Arrival to Sweden
Arriving by plane and train
The airports Stockholm, Gothenburg and Oslo are all about the same distance from the holiday home.
There are good and cheap train and bus connections from the three cities to Säffle , Åmål or to the bus station Knöstad . From there we offer a chargeable shuttle service to the holiday home.
Arriving by car – ferries
Most holiday home guests arrive with their own car. There are several ferry connections to Sweden from the continent:
Color line
Color Line’s “luxury” ferries run daily from Kiel to Oslo. Giant ships with a cruise feeling. Quite a few restaurants, but especially the evening buffet, is second to none. For this alone, the trip with the Color Line is worthwhile.
2:00 p.m. is departure. Around 10:00 in the morning you slept in in Oslo.
Then take the E18 in the direction of Årjäng – Nysäter-Kila. With the Color Line you save approx. 560 kilometers by car one way.
Stena Line
The Stena Line is a little less spectacular. But the crossing is also cheaper. The Stena Line ferries run daily from Kiel to Gothenburg. 18:45 is departure. At around 9 a.m. you leave the ship in Gothenburg.
Then take the E45 to Åmål. Then turn left towards Svanskog for approx. 25 km. In total, approx. 200 km are to be driven from Gothenburg. Since you slept on the ship, this distance is also a piece of cake. With the Stena Line you save approx. 550 kilometers by car one way.
The service is good too.
TT-Line (Travemünde-Trelleborg)
Ferry connections between Travemünde – Trelleborg and Rostock – Trelleborg. The ferries run several times a day. Very good service. Inexpensive alternative to the lines mentioned above. Unfortunately, the journey from Trelleborg to Svanskog takes up to 6 hours.
Arriving by land
Of course you can also get to Sweden and the holiday home via Fehmarn – Denmark – Öresund Bridge. That’s about 750 kilometers from Hamburg. It is also possible, but it is certainly more strenuous. On the other hand, you can plan a stay or two in southern Sweden.
